'Tobacco 21' Law Takes Effect In Cincinnati
It's been illegal to sell tobacco to anyone under the age of 21 in Cincinnati since Dec. 12, 2018, and the state of Ohio made it illegal on Oct. 17 of this year. But Cincinnati's policy is more comprehensive. Stores that sell tobacco products are now subject to new licensing and inspections in Cincinnati. The Tobacco 21 law went into effect on Dec. 1 in the city.
Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the new law are Cincinnati Health Department Health Commissioner Dr. Melba Moore; Cincinnati City Council Member Tamaya Dennard; and Interact for Health Senior Program Officer Megan Folkerth.
