Why are girls hitting puberty earlier. Last fall Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center researchers blamed obesity. Are there other causes? At the time, Children's lead investigator Dr. Frank Biro said environmental and physiological factors also play a role.

Just last month Danish researchers initiated a global effort  against endocrine disruptors, which takes in premature puberty in girls.

EDMaRC, which stands for Edocrine Disruption of Male Reproduction and Child Health, opened in May in Copenhagen. Scientists will meet at regular intervals, stay in Copenhagen to teach and develop future projects.

Researchers say the overall aim is to increase the knowledge in this very complicated area.

In three to five years scientists at the center hope to report what substances or chemicals girls should eliminate from their everyday life.

EDMaRC  is also studying low sperm quality and high incidences of testicular cancer.
