Home Sales Up in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky

Home sales in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky are up this July compared to the same time last year. In a release, the Cincinnati Area board of Realtors says sales were up more than 13 percent from July 2011 and the Northern Kentucky Association of Realtors show a seven percent increase for the same time period. This is the 13th consecutive month where home sales increased on a month to month comparison in Cincinnati.

President of the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors Tom Hasselbeck, says since the home inventory is lower than in past years the average price of homes is going up. The July average sale price was $166, 353, up a few hundred dollars from a year ago.

President of the Northern Kentucky Association of Realtors Ken Warden says median home sale prices are slightly lower compared to a year ago, with the average price down about a half percent.
