City narrows police chief search to four

A screening committee  has narrowed the list of Cincinnati police chief candidates to four finalists from the original pool of 28. 

The finalists are (in alphabetical order):

  • Jeffrey Blackwell, Deputy Chief –  Columbus, Ohio  Police Department
  • Michael Dvorak, Deputy Chief – Mesa, Arizona  Police Department
  • Paul Humphries, Interim Police Chief – Cincinnati Police Department
  • Jerry Speziale, Deputy Superintendent – NY/NJ Port Authority Police

City Manager Milton Dohoney will interview the four candidates in the next coming days. 
Dohoney will have the final say on who gets hired.  He could choose one of the finalists or continue looking at other applicants until the position is filled.
