Updated: 10:55 a.m.

An active shooter was reported at Dennis Intermediate School in Richmond, Ind., via the Richmond Community Schools' Twitter account Thursday morning. The teenage suspect is now dead, according to Indiana State Police. There were no other students reported to be injured, police said.

Richmond Police Department Captain Bill Shake told the Palladium-Item the "incident is over and under control."

The suspect apparently ran into the building after an incident that began away from school grounds, the paper reports. It is unclear whether he was a student at the school. A spokesman for the Indiana State Police says the suspect killed himself when he was confronted by officers, according to the Associated Press.

As a precaution, all Richmond Community Schools went on lockdown and parents were advised not to go to Dennis Intermediate School; instead, students were taken to Civic Hall at Richmond High School where parents can pick children up.

Richmond is about 50 miles west of Dayton, Oh., on Interstate 70.
