Update 2 p.m. Thursday, July 23: Just heard from Michael Williams, The Voice contestant who's singing at Kings Island today through Sunday, and July 30-31. He says he's passing on college this fall for some "exciting" out-of-town projects with "some amazing artists/writers."

Here's an update on the 18-year-old Deerfield Township resident who was singing in the Festhaus country music revue a year ago:

ORIGNAL POST TUESDAY, APRIL 28: A year ago, Michael Williams of Deerfield Township was rehearsing for Kings Island's "Country Flashback" show in the Festhaus.

Now he's waiting to see on Monday May 4 if he'll be singing on live television for the first time, as the final contestant for NBC's The Voice live shows.

Neighbors concerned about loud roller coasters running late at night at Kings Island may be getting some relief. Parent company Cedar Fair tells the group it will add sand to the tracks of the Orion and Diamondback roller coasters.

You've probably heard the buzz this fall about HGTV renovating The Brady Bunch house in suburban Los Angeles – but here's a DVR alert for a Brady episode filmed mostly outside the house… in Greater Cincinnati.

A royal blue track will soon change the Kings Island skyline. Climbing nearly 300 feet in the air, "Orion" will be the tallest, fastest and longest steel coaster in the park.

You have just one month left to ride the Vortex at Kings Island. The amusement park says it will close the coaster for good after Halloween Haunt ends in October.

Flintstones! Meet The Flintstones! They're the modern Stone Age family!

From the town of Bedrock, The Flintstones are heading to MeTV at 6 p.m. weekdays starting Monday, Sept. 30 in Cincinnati on WLWT-TV Channel 5.2 and in Dayton on WHIO-TV Channel 7.2.

Bye, bye birdie! Firehawk is thrilling its final visitors this fall. Kings Island announced Thursday the coaster, which opened in 2007, will close at the end of the season.

The antique cars are coming back to Kings Island. The amusement park announced Thursday the popular ride will return for 2019.

Kings Island has unveiled its newest roller coaster. Mystic Timbers is a 3,265-foot long wooden coaster that reaches speeds of 53 miles per hour with 16 drops.

A few months after Kings Island opened in 1972, The Partridge Family cast came to film their ABC show there a full year ahead of The Brady Bunch.

The episode called "I Left My Heart in Cincinnati,"  with Johnny Bench as a waiter, premiered on this date, Jan. 26, 1973.

White Oak native Carmen Electra, who was given her stage name by Prince, tells E! News that the late rock star "was like a god. Maybe that's why I'm so shocked he's passed away."

Born Tara Patrick in Cincinnati in 1972, she attended the School for Creative & Performing Arts fourth through eighth grades, graduated from Princeton High School in 1990, and performed at Kings Island. She moved to Los Angeles later in 1990 and met Prince while auditioning for his all-girl band.

He wrote a song for her, changed her name and made her a star, as she told me several times over the past 20 years.

Here’s the story of a show called “Brady”… Stars Barry Williams, Maureen McCormick, Eve Plumb, Susan Olsen, Mike Lookinland, Christopher Knight, Florence Henderson, Ann B. Davis and Robert Reed were shown looking all over Kings Island for Mike Brady’s (Reed) architectural drawings for the park’s expansion.

Kings Island will need more than 4,000 employees for the 2014 summer season.  On Saturday, March 1 from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm the park will host a job fair to begin filling these positions at the Mason amusement park.

Kings Island is going to be building its 15th roller coaster.  A release says it will be the longest inverted steel roller coaster in the world.  It's called Banshee and will debut in April.  You can take a virtual tour at visitkingsisland.com/banshee.
