Six Flags, which operates Kings Island and Cedar Point, has temporarily shut down roller coasters across the country after a man fell out of a ride at Six Flags Over Georgia Monday.

The coroner's office reports the man died Friday at UC Medical Center.

In the immediate future, the answer is "nothing."

What is now Planet Snoopy will soon be Camp Snoopy, with a camping-themed play area and a new roller coaster called "Snoopy's Soap Box Racers."

Kings Island — part of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company which also operates Cedar Point — is implementing a chaperone policy for kids and teens 15 and under.

Ohio’s largest amusement parks, Cedar Point and Kings Island, are both owned by Cedar Fair. The state’s COVID-19 lockdown prevented the parks from opening on schedule in May 2020, though season passes had been sold.

The amusement park is adding a new area themed on myths of ancient civilizations. Kings Island says Adventure Port will be located between Coney Mall and Action Zone.

"Dad was like, 'You gotta get there early, it's gonna be a big crowd. Oh, my goodness, we're gonna have to be there early,' " Tamara Hitson remembers. "And nobody was here," she finishes with a laugh.

Newport's Baynum Painting has done it two other times at Kings Island and three times at Kings Dominion. The latest coat of fresh paint will be applied by the end of October.
