2019 was an epic year for Bond Hill native Ray Ball.

Her marketing agency BallR Media booked big events like Cincinnati's gathering for black millennials Palooza Noire, and she designed a sold-out sneaker with Nike.

What brought these ideas into focus for the 31-year-old? Manifestation.

For some young people like Ball, manifesting the life you want to live and overcoming obstacles is a powerful idea. "If you have 13 goals and you accomplish 10 that's a win," Ball says. "Those little bitty things you do everyday - by the end of 2020 that's a big win."

Intentionally setting goals that are bigger than your reality isn't new though - self help gurus and celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Gwyneth Paltrow have been talking about manifestation for awhile.

As the 2010s end and 2020 ramps up, WVXU spoke with Ball to hear how a health scare derailed her plans, how obstacles and access to resources impacts her ability to manifest the life she wants, and her tips for the young people in her neighborhood.
