How To Get Your Teen To Put Down Their Smartphone
Medical researchers, educators and tech professionals continue their warnings about children and teens spending too much time on their smartphones.
Even kids recognize smartphones are a problem. Sixty percent of teens taking part in a recent survey say they are addicted to their phones. Many admit to being frequently distracted by their phones and frustrated by how phones prevent personal interaction and socialization.
Joining "Cincinnati Edition" to discuss how to manage smartphone use by children and teens are Executive Director of Camp Ernst, Elizabeth (Eli) Cochran; Dave Kraft, who teaches computer classes at Calvert Catholic Schools in Tiffin, Ohio; and Michael Mercier, president of Screen Education, a non-profit organization dedicated to mitigating the negative consequences of screen addiction through research and education.
