On this page, you will find his weekly column, Politically Speaking; the Monday morning political chats with News Director Maryanne Zeleznik and other news coverage by Wilkinson. A native of Dayton, Ohio, Wilkinson has covered every Ohio gubernatorial race since 1974, as well as 16 presidential nominating conventions. Along with politics, Wilkinson also covered the 2001 Cincinnati race riots, the Lucasville prison riot in 1993, the Air Canada plane crash at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in 1983, and the 1997 Ohio River flooding. And, given his passion for baseball, you might even find some stories about the Cincinnati Reds here from time to time.

The Ohio Democratic Party has landed former President Bill Clinton to be the featured speaker at its annual Legacy Dinner in June, just as the statewide campaigns are going into full swing.

The fundraising event will be on Friday, June 13 in Columbus. Party leaders are hoping the presence of Clinton will fire up the party faithful for a fall campaign where they have the daunting task of trying to win back all the statewide offices, from governor on down.

"We are thrilled to welcome back to Ohio President Clinton, a life-long fighter for working families and one of the greatest leaders of our time,'' Ohio Democratic Party chairman Chris Redfern said in a press release.

Clinton, the 42nd president, won Ohio in two presidential elections - 1992 and 1996. President Obama has also won Ohio twice.

Information on ticket sales for the event should be on the Ohio Democratic Party website later this week.
