The Hamilton County Board of Elections has appointed a new Director of Elections following the former director's appointment, Amy Searcy, to a judgeship.

Sherry Poland, Interim Director of Elections, and former Operations Administrator, is the new director.

As Operations Administrator, she has successfully administered over 37 elections, including 3 presidential elections.

From a BOE (board of elections) news release:

"The Hamilton County Board of Elections is among the best in Ohio and the new director, Sherry Poland, is sure to continue this tradition," said board member and Chair of the Hamilton County Republican Party, Alex Triantafilou.

Board of Elections Chairman and Chair of the Hamilton County Democratic Party, Tim Burke said, "The professionalism she has exhibited as Administrator, makes her selection as Director, well deserved."
