Dolly Parton's telethon 8-11 p.m. Tuesday to aid fire victims in the Gatlinburg area will air over the air here on Channel 25.5, along with the Great American Country (GAC) and Rural TV cable channels.
NASH94.1 also will broadcast "Dolly's Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefit for the My People Fund" concert during its national "NASH Nights Live" radio show.
Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers, Alabama, Alison Krauss, Big & Rich, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Hank Williams Jr., Cyndi Lauper, Don McLean, Ronnie Dunn, Jamey Johnson, Lauren Alaina, LOCASH, Chris Janson, Montgomery Gentry, Chris Stapleton, Chris Young and Parton are scheduled to perform.
The telethon will raise funds for the Dollywood Foundation My People Fund, established by Parton and the Dollywood Company to help families devastated by the Nov. 28 wildfires which ravaged Sevier County, Tenn., where Parton grew up.
Fans also may donate directly to the My People Fund now at the Dollywood Foundation website. The site says that 100% of all donations will go directly to the families affected by the wildfires. The My People Fund is providing $1,000 each month for up to six months to Sevier County families whose primary residence (renters or homeowners) is a complete loss or is uninhabitable due to the wildfires in Sevier County.
