SRV, Van Morrison & Ry Cooder On The Blues!

Stevie Ray Vaughan starts off this week's blues show, Saturday, August 10th at 11pm, talking about his playing, followed by him & Double Trouble on their classic, "Pride and Joy."  The rest of the first set includes Lonnie Mack and Joe Louis Walker.  The second set begins with Delbert McClinton who has a new cd out, "Tall, Dark, & Handsome."  You'll also hear Bonnie Raitt, Van Morrison, and Johnny Adams.  The rest of the show includes songs by Bernie Pearl, Ry Cooder, Candye Kane, and Wynton Marsalis/Eric Clapton's version of "Just A Closer Walk With Thee."

In other news, Ricky Nye Inc. & Robin Lacy & DeZydeco are playing at the Price Hill Concerts in the Square Friday, August 23rd.  And, I was recently contacted by Judy Adams, the widow of Johnny Adams, who told me that he was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame on July 26th.  To learn more about Johnny Adams, you might want to pick up her biography of him that came out in 2008, The Johnny Adams Story: New Orleans Famous Blues Legend.
