Ohio native Doug Gillard is an accomplished guitarist for the Dayton, Ohio indie rock band Guided by Voices. The band released their latest album, Surrender Your Poppy Field, in February. At the time of Elaine Diehl’s interview, they were getting ready to go out on tour.
