Hamilton County orders flags to half-staff

Tana Weingartner

Hamilton County Commissioners issued the following directive on Tuesday:

By Order of the President of the United States of America, the flag of the United States will be flown at half-staff at all Hamilton County government buildings and facilities beginning today until sunset, April 20, 2013 in remembrance of those killed and injured at the Boston Marathon bombing on Monday, April 15, 2013.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those killed and injured by this senseless act of violence and to those living in the Boston area who have been adversely affected by this cruelty.  It’s a terrible reminder that there are people out there who lack respect for human life and that we must remain vigilant.

We also wish to commend the quick actions taken by the first responders, volunteers, citizens and medical personnel who aided the victims without regard to their own safety.” – The Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners

Commissioner Chris Monzel   Commissioner Greg Hartmann   Commissioner Todd Portune
