Music Hall And Aronoff Center Add Metal Detectors

The Cincinnati Arts Association says starting Friday Sept. 6, patrons going to Music Hall and the Aronoff Center will have to walk through a metal detector and have their bags searched.

"The implementation of these procedures is an additional best practice to create a safe and pleasant entertainment experience for all our guests," a news release says. "These standard screening procedures are similar to those being implemented at major performing arts venues, arenas, and stadiums locally and across the country."

Oversized bags, luggage and backpacks are not allowed. Purses and other small bags are allowed after a thorough inspection.

The folloinwg items are not permitted:

  • weapons
  • alcohol or illegal drugs
  • professional cameras
  • outside food and drinks (empty plastic reusable bottles are permitted)
  • glass or metal containers
  • pets, except service animals
  • oversized bags, luggage and backpacks
