This year many nationally known musicians will be making stops in the Greater Cincinnati area. Tours have already been booked at Memorial Hall, Riverbend, U.S. Bank Arena, and the Rose Music Center at The Heights.
The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is also presenting their annual "Classical Roots" concert in honor of International Women's Day on Friday, March 8th at Music Hall. And, country legend Mickey Gilley is bringing his Urban Cowboy Reunion Show to the Belterra Casino Resort on Saturday, March 9th with Johnny Lee.
moe. and Blues Traveler will be stopping at PNC Pavilion on Sunday, July 28th during their national tour. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 1st at 10am on Ticketmaster and PNC Pavilion. Each band will play one set & then collaborate on another set with special guest G. Love in the mix as well.
"Peter Frampton Finale—The Farewell Tour," will begin June 18 in Tulsa, OK and continue throughout the United States (with a couple of stops in Canada) into the fall. Frampton’s tour will be stopping at Riverbend on Friday, July 12th at 7:30pm. Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening will be the opener for most of the tour. A few additional surprise guests may also appear on some select dates. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 1st at 10am local time at LiveNation.com.
JJ Grey & Mofro and guitarist Jonny Lang will co-headline a summer tour with special guest Marc Broussard. The tour will include a stop at PNC Pavilion Thursday, August 8th. Tickets go on sale at 11am, Friday, March 1st at Ticketmaster & PNC Pavilion.
The Longworth-Anderson Series presents The Nils Lofgren Band Wednesday, May 15th at Memorial Hall. Nils Lofgren is a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band and has toured with Neil Young's Crazy Horse and Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band. Tickets go on sale Friday March 1st at noon. His first band tour in over 15 years, they’ll be promoting the band’s new studio album featuring six songs Lofgren wrote with Lou Reed.
Tickets are on sale now for Kelly Clarkson’s "Meaning Of Life Tour" coming to U.S. Bank Arena Saturday, March 23rd at 7 pm. She’ll be joined by Grammy-nominated Kelsea Ballerini and last season’s winner of NBC’s The Voice, Team Kelly’s Brynn Cartelli.
The Robert Cray Band and Marc Cohn will perform together live for one night only on Wednesday, June 19th at the Rose Music Center at The Heights. The show will also feature special guest vocalists The Blind Boys of Alabama and Shemekia Copeland. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster and Rose Music Center.
In honor of International Women’s Day, Friday, March 8th, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra will celebrate the African American musical experience with their annual concert, Classical Roots, at Music Hall. This concert will recognize past and present women composers, arrangers, and musicians. The orchestra will be led by John Morris Russell along with a 150-member Classical Roots choir led by William Henry Caldwell and composed of singers from 50 churches in the Greater Cincinnati area. The special guest artist this year will be Grammy-winning vocalist Lisa Fischer who has been a backup singer for The Rolling Stones and Tina Turner and starred in the 2013 Oscar-winning documentary, Twenty Feet from Stardom. Ms. Fischer will also be performing with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra on Saturday & Sunday, March 9th & 10th.
Legendary country singer Mickey Gilley is coming to Belterra Casino Resort in Florence, Indiana on Saturday, March 9th, at 7pm with his Urban Cowboy Reunion Show. Gilley will be on stage with Johnny Lee. Mickey Gilley's a member of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During his musical career, he had 39 Top-10 country hits with 17 of them reaching #1 on country charts.
Take 6 is celebrating their 25th Anniversary to Memorial Hall Wednesday, March 20th at 8pm. According to Memorial Hall’s press release, Take 6 is the most awarded vocal group in history with 10 Grammy Awards, 10 Dove Awards, a Soul Train Award, and others.
