Rob Braun On His New Career And His Many Years In Broadcasting

JOSH CURINGTON

Rob Braun signed off from the anchor desk at Local 12 WKRC-TV in June, after 35 years on the air in Cincinnati. He said leaving was his own choice and he was in fact offered a generous contract to stay, but of the station's current owners he said, "I don't feel I fit the well with the Sinclair News model."

In the days after Braun left the station, a friend contacted him with an offer to be the corporate spokesman for family-owned Heritage Bank based in Burlington, Ky. After having conversations with both WCPO-TV and WLWT, he decided to accept the contract position with Heritage Bank to do their TV and radio commercials.

Rob Braun joins Cincinnati Edition to discuss his long career in broadcasting with host Michael Monks. Also joining a portion of the discussion is WVXU Media Beat writer John Kiesewetter.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
