Jennifer Schack New Archdiocese Of Cincinnati Media Relations Director

Former TV meteorologist Jennifer Schack has joined the Archdiocese of Cincinnati as director of media relations.

She will work for Mike Schafer in the Archdiocese's Department of Communication and Mission Promotion. Both positions were created last year as Dan Andriacco, Archdiocese communications director, was preparing to retire.

Schack, who attends St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cold Spring, KY, is a graduate of Bishop Brossart High School and Thomas More College.

"My Catholic faith has been a very important thread in my life, personally. I believe that my broadcasting career was readying me for this work and I'm excited to be here," she said.

"A lot of people have asked me how I've gone from being a meteorologist on TV to working for the Catholic Church. It's been a very natural transition for me," she said. "I've always been open to God calling me to merge my faith and my work.  As a practicing Catholic, being able to use my communication skills to work for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is a perfect fit."

Schack left WLWT-TV last May after four years as weekend morning meteorologist to become a new media correspondent for the Diocese of Covington.

She said the career change was more family friendly (she has three young children), and an opportunity for "merging my Catholic faith with my work."

Here's the release:
