Summer is here, and so are deals on golf, travel, outdoor adventures, gardening and other seasonal specials at WCET-TV.

Instead of waiting until the rescheduled Action Auction in September, WCET-TV and Dayton's WPTD-TV are holding their first Online Summer Auction with items donated for the April TV auction -- which has been rescheduled for Sept. 9-12 -- that "are really best enjoyed during the summer," says Kellie May, manager of communications and digital initiatives for Public Media Connect, the nonprofit parent for Channels 48, 16 and 14.

Young's Jersey Dairy in Yellow Springs also has donated gift certificates to the TV auction.

Deals on summer treats also will be available from the Root Beer Stand in Sharonville and Young's Jersey Dairy in Yellow Springs.

Campgrounds, riding centers, canoe and kayaking outfitters, garden centers, lawn services and the University of Dayton also have donated gift certificates.

Proceeds from the Online Summer Auction will "benefit your local PBS station and the work we’ve been able to do during the pandemic and year-round," May says. "We’ve never done this before, so we’d be especially grateful if you could share this news." (So spread the word!)

Bidding will be done through the only GiveSmart program the stations will use for the Action Auction  Sept. 9-12 for CET and ThinkTV.
